Frostwolves Lunar class battleship.
Built at the Lunar shipyards during the end of the Great Crusade in 980.M30, as a prototype variant of the Lunar class battleship. Frostfang and her sister ships were meant as reinforcements for the Space Marine Legions. She transported the warriors of Jarl Aegir Seadragon, of Great Company Twa – The Thread-cutters. Frostfang accompanied the delegation of Silent Sisters and Adeptus Custodes that travelled with Leman Russ to Prospero and was part of the attack on Tizca. The vessel followed Leman Russ’ fleet after Prospero, and was damaged during the fighting with the Alpha Legion. She followed the Space Wolf fleet as Leman Russ broke through the Alpha Legion to head for the Siege for the Emperor’s Palace. Along with the rest of the Space Wolves, she arrived too late.
Frostfang served with distinction, as Aegir and his Seadragons hunted traitors in the aftermath of Horus’ defeat. Among many collaborations during this time, Aegir worked with Legio Rimturs of Isafold and the local Adeptus Mechanicus forces. When Great Wolf Bjorn the Fell-Handed declared the first Great Hunt, Frostfang was one of the first ships to sail the Great Ocean in search of Leman Russ.
For unknown reasons, Frostfang crash landed during a terrible storm over the largest glacier on Isafold, Everfrost, 8,300 years ago. The impact melted part of the glacier, but the meltwater in the impact crater swiftly froze over again, burying Frostfang in the glacier. As the local satellites and surveillance equipment were all jammed during the storm, the crash was not detected. No news of the crash or why it had occurred ever made it back to the Fang, so the fate of Frostfang and its crew passed into the sagas. No evidence of the reason for the crash and very little about what happened to the crew and Space Wolves has so far been found.
